Social, economic, and demographic changes occurring in the world and in our country are causing the diversification and complexity of social problems faced by individuals, families, and communities. The need for professional social service interventions in areas such as poverty, migration, aging, disability, child protection, family issues, and social exclusion is increasing every day. In this context, the need for qualified, equipped, and skilled intermediate personnel in the field of social services is gaining importance. The need for trained human resources in this field continues to grow in order to increase social welfare and to provide social services effectively.

Professionals working in the field of social services must be individuals who can recognize, assess, and apply appropriate intervention methods to problems arising at the individual, family, group, and community levels, who can work in collaboration with relevant institutions and organizations, and who are committed to ethical principles and values. In this context, the need for qualified intermediate personnel who can take active roles in the field and work with a multidisciplinary team approach is increasingly growing.

In response to this need, the Social Services Associate Degree Program is being conducted within the Çavdır Vocational School. The main aim of the program is to train social service technicians who have adopted the basic concepts and principles of the social service field, can integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, are sensitive to the needs of individuals and society, respect human rights, adhere to ethical values, possess strong communication skills, and have problem-solving and analytical abilities. Within the program, it is aimed for students to gain knowledge and skills in areas such as social services, human behavior, psychology, sociology, social policy, and field applications.

Students who graduate from the program are awarded the “Social Services Associate Degree Diploma.”

Graduates who successfully complete the program can transition to undergraduate programs in Social Work and Sociology within the quota through the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM.

The program aims to support students' professional development and to provide qualified human resources to the field of social services through a student-centered education approach, the integration of theoretical and practical courses, institutional visits, project work, and field applications.
